What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy the friendships I make with our customers and the opportunity to fix their plumbing problems.
Why did you get into this field?
I tried several things in the construction trades before I narrowed it down to plumbing. I've always enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, and found that installing plumbing systems in homes is kind of like working on a larger scale jigsaw puzzle.
What does it feel like to help people out of a jam?
It is quite rewarding to help people out of a jam and to earn their trust and friendship in the process.
What do you like about being part of the Rohrer Companies' family?
I was hired 39 years ago by Larry Rohrer when we were known as Harry C Rohrer and Sons. It has been a good experience in developing my skills and confidence. I have especially appreciated the support that I received from management over the years. I also enjoy the friendships I have with fellow employees.
Where do you live?
I live on a quiet, dead-end street in the neighborhood of New Danville.
What’s your family like?
I've been married to my wife Lucy for 33 years. We have 4 children, We are now grandparents too.
Where did you learn your trade?
My dad was a plumber. I learned some from him, but most of what I learned came from on the job experience. I started out as a helper working in new construction. I eventually became a job foreman and later a supervisor doing primarily residential and commercial construction projects during the 80s and 90s. Later on as the company became more focused on service and repair work, I developed my skills as a service technician, which is what I am doing today.
Where’s your favorite place to go out to eat with your family?
We have several places we like to eat out at, but Longhorn Steakhouse is probably one of my favorites.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I like to spend time with family. I enjoy going out with my wife for dinner or for weekend getaways.
